Why this occurs…It turns out that when you uninstall/upgrade Office to a newer edition it keeps registry keys for those uninstalled/previous editions, during installation Adobe Acrobat for whatever reason checks these Error 1606 As for the virus, run a scan with free malwarebytes antimalware as well as the resident AV and let them clean whatever they want to. These instructions are designed for creating a local administrative user.

I removed all except 14, restarted my computer, began the Acrobat install again and crossed my fingers the box with the Error 1606…would not appear.
