The AE is about 30 feet from the router with only one wall in between them. If you open Airport Utility (it's in the utilities folder in your applications) then click on the image of you AE then click edit, you will see a screen with a What do I need to do? No connection, nothing like that, it just goes into the wall, and disappears. It's a similar issue to what davidmac had. They advise asking Comcast to change the MAC id on their side to the one that you give them off the Airport. But it's not.
Ideas? Remove power from the modem. As I said, I have the internet service coming into the Linksys, which then fans out to our computers and to the SMC barricade.
